FAQ

What different types of sessions do you offer?
I specialize in business and artist headshots, family portraits and couples portraits.  Sessions take place at local parks, meadows, orchards, downtown locations, or any other location that fits your needs.  Appointments are offered in the morning and late afternoon for optimal lighting conditions. Remember that overcast skies are not a bad thing!  Headshot sessions are about 30 minutes long, while family and couples portrait sessions are approximately 1-2 hours.  All photo sessions are at a location of your choice.
–Travel fee applies for locations more than 30 miles from 06492.

What should I wear?
Solid colors always photograph the best. Avoid clothing with strong logos or patterns. Start with a basic color palette and add color accents here and there. Jewel tones always look fantastic together - Purples and greens, or blues and yellows. If you're still not sure, you can always go with neutral greys, which work well with any color pairing! Don't forget that your feet will be in the shot too, so make sure your shoes match the rest of the outfit!

What should I bring with me?
You should bring any accessories that will make your photo session more personal to you - Favorite toys, stuffed animals, a blanket made by your friend or family, sports equipment, pet or musical instrument.  The more your props are unique to your family, the more special your portraits will be!  A few snacks and drinks are always good when taking breaks, but be mindful to avoid stains occurring during our session!  Don't forget a small hairbrush or comb, chapstick, and emergency makeup!

What if it rains or someone isn't feeling well and I need to reschedule?
A portrait session doesn't happen every day and I want your images to be the best they can be.  If the weather is looking uncooperative, I'll reach out to you to pick a new date. If someone is feeling sick, it is imperative that we reschedule. Sick kids don't act like themselves, and that will show in their pictures.  I’ll do my best to work with you to find another date that works for your family.  Your $50 deposit will be transferred to the new agreed-upon session date as long as at least 24 hours notice of rescheduling is given.  If less than 24 hours notice is given, your deposit will not be refunded, but you may reschedule by paying a new deposit and completing a new photography contract.

When will my proofs be ready to view?
Your private online proof gallery will be available within 14 business days of your session.  It will be available for viewing and ordering for 15 days, and you can share it with your friends & family.  A $15 reopening fee will be charged to reopen gallery for 15 additional days once it has expired.  All orders are processed, printed, and shipped immediately after being placed, and cannot be canceled or refunded.  You will receive your order within 7-10 business days, most often earlier than that.

How long do I have to order my prints?
Your gallery will expire 15 days from the date it is opened. Your initial order must be placed within this time frame.  Additional print orders may be placed at any time with a minimum print order of $100.  Future orders are subject to list pricing at the time the order is placed.

If I purchase digital images, where should I print my photos?
I recommend using a professional print lab for the highest quality.  On the consumer level, MPix.com is acceptable quality.  I highly recommend avoiding Walmart, Target, CVS and other similar locations for your prints.
